The big ‘to-do list’ for the installation

As of today, there are only 15 days left to finish and set-up the project.

I must note, I have spent too much time debugging the idea, where I should be focusing more on the technical side of things, even though that’s one of my strong points. Anyhow, the big to-do list is here:

  • making the ambient tracks for every visual part
  • purchase and make the “button” (USB trigger)
  • contact already recruited actors and recruit 2 more (optimally need between 3 and 5)
  • set up a few meetings with them to explain the études and try out some of the improvisation techniques
  • recruit a photographer for the opening day
  • recruit two video camera operators and instruct them
  • research 3D video mapping
  • test 2 live cameras in Max
  • make the Max/Jitter patch
  • gather the required visual materials and edit them (video, photography and paintings)
  • general set up test
  • purchase the materials and make the screens
  • figure out how to “distort” the floor
  • set up and test the PA on location
  • test the available lighting (do I use DMX?)

Now the list of physical items on set:

  • a minimum of 2 projectors, one with HDMI or DVI input, second with VGA input
  • the switch button
  • a table for the button
  • gaffer tape for the cables
  • the screens, 7-8 on each side
  • line (nylon?) to mount the screens to the ceiling
  • bits of cardboard for the bottom frame of the screens to make them heavier
  • cheese :)
  • my laptop (preferably not visible)
